Your Adventurer's Guidebook

Every successful quest requires a bit of preparation! Here you’ll find the answers to all your questions, ensuring your family’s magical adventure is as smooth and delightful as possible.

Preparing for Your Quest (Tickets & Arrival)

Tickets must be purchased online or at the event. We highly recommend purchasing them in advance online. To make sure you have a spot for your adventuring party, booking early is highly recommended!

Buy Tickets

Your all-inclusive passage costs $19 for Adults (ages 13 and up) and $15 for Children (ages 2-12). Young Apprentices under the age of two are welcomed for free.

Like tickets to a grand magical tournament, our tickets are non-refundable. However, we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise. Please contact us, and we will do our best to accommodate a change to a different day or time, subject to availability.

The quest is available during the last three weekends of October. The specific dates for 2025 are October 11-12, 17-18, and 24-25.

Park hours are from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. In order to experience everything, please plan on arriving before 2 PM.

Our event is labeled as a G/PG family-friendly event. While we recommended ages three and up, we have had younger go through the event and greatly enjoy it. We’ve had just adults go through and enjoy it too! It’s suitable for all ages to enjoy.

Powerland Halloween takes place at Powerland Heritage Park. Here is the address:

3995 Brooklake Rd NE, Brooks, OR 97303
(I-5, Exit 263)

We highly recommend getting to the event early. Certain days get crowded between 11-2. We recommend you aim for 10 am to enjoy everything or 2pm to miss the crowds.

When you and your family arrive, you will be given a timed ticket for the story adventure – A Wizard’s Challenge. The ticket will tell you when to be at the trolley car station for your adventure. Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start time listed on your ticket. This is important.

There are many things for you to do while you wait, including photo opportunities, a skeleton hunt, and a Kids’ Activity Center.

Due to the historic trolleys’ design, they are not wheelchair accessible. However, the trolley barn (where the immersive adventure happens) and Kids’ Activity Center are both handicap accessible.

If you require any special assistance, please let us know upon arrival, and we’ll be more than happy to help.

Your Magical Experience (On-Site Fun)

Your ticket is an all-inclusive key to the adventure! It includes the main “A Wizard’s Challenge” story quest (including a ride on a historic trolley), a journey on the steam traction engine wagon, a skeleton hunt, access to the Kids’ Activity Center, a complimentary magic wand, and a pumpkin from our patch to decorate and take home. In the Kids’ Activity Center, you can play, decorate your wand, decorate your pumpkin, and more! Plus, you can collect coins during your adventure to spend in the Wizard Store!

Absolutely! We highly encourage all of our guests, young and old, to arrive in their finest wizarding robes or Halloween costumes. It adds to the fun for everyone and makes for the most magical photos!

We take our “All Magic, No Frights” promise very seriously. The entire experience is designed from the ground up to be delightful, not terrifying. You will find no jump scares, gore, or high-startle elements. Our goal is to create a fun, story-driven adventure that is perfect for elementary-aged children and their families.

We recommend planning for at least 2-3 hours to enjoy everything the experience has to offer. The main story quest takes about 25-30 minutes, but with trolley rides and other activities, many families bring a picnic and make an afternoon of it! We will have a food vendor on site too with special “Wizard Eats.”

During their quest, kids will earn coins that they can spend at the Wizard Store for prizes. The Wizard Store is at the Kids’ Activity Center.

This year is an entirely new story adventure – A Wizard’s Challenge! When you arrive, you will be given a magic wand that you’ll be able to keep and even decorate!

In addition, returning favorites include:

  • A store to spend coins you earn.
  • Steam Traction Engine wagon rides.
  • A skeleton hunt.
  • Kids’ Activity Center
  • Pick out a small pumpkin and decorate it (along with your wand).

Yes. They are also historical. Read more about them at https://museum.oregontrolley.com/. This year we plan on using a double-decker trolley that ran in Blackpool, England, in the 1900s!

Note: Occasionally, due to a mechanical issue, a historic trolley may be replaced with another.

Provisions & Practicalities (Food, Rules & More)

Yes, you are more than welcome to bring your own food, drinks, and snacks to enjoy during your visit. We also have a food vendor with great prices!

The adventure continues, rain or shine! Many of our attractions, including the trolley ride and Kids’ Activity Center, as well as the Trolley Car Barn, where the immersive experience takes place, are covered or indoors. The pumpkin patch is also covered. Please dress for the Oregon weather!

No. The museums at Powerland Heritage Park closed for the season on September 31st. This event takes place on the grounds, but the museums (except for Oregon Electric Railway Museum) are closed.

Yes! We do! We love putting on this very unique family-friendly Halloween event. One of our favorite parts is when people enter the trolley barn for the first time for the interactive story and go “wow.”

Are you interested in being a volunteer for the event? We need staff, actors, and behind-the-scenes people. Contact Joe Tracy via jtracy@themeparkmagazine.com if you’re interested.
